not gonna use plugins in general when possible OR be very careful / selective in their use – because they go away and mess things up. Also, they can subvert the WP system “to make things easier” and cause problems

not gonna use these plugins

  • Several that have no necessary function – see plugins that I have deactivated.
  • Pagelayer – don’t see value – and if you don’t have it then what you created with it becomes their HTML code (see below).
  • custom content shortcode – not checked with current WP version, hasn’t been updated in 10 months – though it was nice and powerful – see menu on page test page for example of use with [code in square brackets]
  • shortcodes elements – project cancelled
  • WP Show Posts – not updated in 6 months, not checked with current WP ver
  • Maybe add WordPress Shortcodes Plugin — Shortcodes Ultimate as this plugin has almost a million installs and good review? Because it can be useful to e.g. list a selected list of posts in a page or post.
